House Votes to Compel TikTok Sale, Advances Aid Bills for Israel, Ukraine, and Indo-Pacific

The House voted to require ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, to sell the platform within nine months, extendable to a year, or face a U.S. ban. This measure, supported by President Biden and the Senate, brings TikTok closer to a potential ban. Concurrently, the House is set to vote on bills for new aid to Israel and Ukraine, alongside security assistance for the Indo-Pacific. Despite opposition from some conservative members, Speaker Johnson led the vote, aligning with Biden's stance on supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression.
